sorry everyone for the lack of a comic this week but my desktop (which is attached to the scanner) decided to crap out so i can't scan the next one in until the desktop gets fixed. unfortunately, my stepdad, who is practically a computer guru, says that the monitor might just be on its way out so we might have to get a new one and goodness knows when that'll happen. i'll try to do what i can from the laptop but it'll be a while until i'm able to post a real comic.
i know, this sucks. trust me, i'm not a happy camper but i don't know what else to do. i apologize for the ginormous inconvenience this causes for the people that read this but i'll do the best i can.
anyway, merry whatever!

#14 - Potter Puppet Pals parody
Yes, it's a parody of a parody. References are from (in order of appearance) "Mysterious Ticking Noise", "Bothering Snape", "Yule Ball '07 part B" and "Wizard Angst".
mandachan's note: sorry for the constant capitalization change. we kinda got into a tiff about it and i gave up 'cause arguing is a moot point. and moot is a funny word :)
ps: DON'T YOU DARE CAPITALIZE THIS NOTE, EGE, OR I WILL COME AFTER YOU.

filler
sorry, the artiste extraordinare (aka me) is overwhelmed by the amount of homework/projects assigned and due this week so you get another filler. this obviously isn't a comic but it fits the awkward theme of the webcomic and it's funny (well at least i think it is)

as lovely mets blogger ellie said, "ian [kinsler, #5] needs to learn about the strikeout looking =)"

Fixed the alt-text
It was only showing up on some browsers for some reason. I moved it from the 'alt' tag to the 'title' tag and that seemed to fix it. I also added alt-text (aka mouseover text) for the newer comics.

#8 - nyquil high
sorry again for the late post, i've been busy and the comic goes up when i say it goes up, dangit.

yes, folks, this did actually happen. -- mandachan
Unfortunately, it did. All of these things in one day. I'm somewhat stoned when I take antihistamines, but nothing like what the Nyquil did to Laura. In her defense, though, she didn't grab at my crotch (it's a bit hard to tell with a comic) and didn't look *that* much up my shorts. -- The EGE

#6 - saltalawhat?

ok, so today's comic is exceptionally tiny, and clicking on it will always make it bigger, but just in case it's not completely obvious, we're having some technical difficulties with making it look large and clear enough. my apologies to everyone. i'll try to fix it.
and again, it's a baseball player pronunciation joke.

#5 - pronunciation fail
sorry, everyone. instead of a turtle tuesday, you get an awkward wednesday post instead. lucky you.

For those of you who do not get the joke here, our dear friend laura here has the uncanny ability to not be able to pronounce giants' pitcher tim lincecum's last name correctly. None of us know why. It's pretty much self-explanatory. For more details on the reigning NL cy young winner, visit my blog, there's usually a post pertaining to him every 5 days or so. --mandachan

No turtles today...
Sorry folks, this Turtle Tuesday™ has been pre-empted to next week cause monday was mandachan's birthday. You really ought to go visit her and wish her a happy belated birthday, cause she's awesome like that.

Alt text added
I've added attempted extra punchlines to the comics with mouseover / alt text. They may or may not be funny. Enjoy.

Welcome!
Welcome to Drowning in Turtles!
It's a webcomic featuring stick figures. It's like a ripoff of xkcd, only worse, and far less regular. It's a mostly true-to-life slice of life featuring our misadventures in the most awkward and hilarious study ever.
